Stephen Curry scored 41 points in an overtime win over Orlando, setting an NBA record with his 16th 40-point game after age 35.

By the numbers: Stephen Curry scored 41 points with six rebounds and six assists as Golden State beat Orlando in overtime for its seventh consecutive victory.

  • 19 of Curry's points came in the fourth quarter and overtime, including four baskets that tied the game or put the Warriors ahead in the final three minutes of regulation.
  • The performance was Curry's 16th game with at least 40 points since turning 35, moving him past LeBron James for the most in NBA history.

Zoom in: Curry also made a 3-pointer for the 100th consecutive game, the third streak of at least 100 games in his career. He is the only player in league history with multiple streaks that long.

  • His first-quarter rebound gave him 5,000 for his career and made him the eighth player with at least 26,000 points, 6,000 assists and 5,000 rebounds.

The big picture: Golden State started the season 0-3 and has since won seven in a row. The team became the first since the 1950-51 Boston Celtics to produce a seven-game winning streak after that start.

What's next: The Warriors finish a six-game home stand Monday against New Orleans, with Curry averaging 33.8 points during the winning streak.

Why it matters: Curry's late-career production is adding records while changing Golden State's season. One week turned a winless start into one of the league's strongest active streaks.
