Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is facing congressional scrutiny after reports alleged a relationship with a woman accused of spying for China.

The big picture: Nvidia sits at the center of the global AI race, giving questions about CEO Jensen Huang's contacts a national security dimension beyond one executive's private life.

  • Axios reported that multiple reports Friday night alleged Huang had a romantic relationship with a woman described as a purported Chinese spy.
  • Sen. Chris Coons, a Delaware Democrat, promised a probe of the latest report and Huang's relationships, according to Axios.

The other side: Nvidia has repeatedly denied that Huang's relationship with Alice Huang was anything beyond a typical business contact and says no sensitive information was shared.

  • The company says a CEO routinely meets thousands of customer executives and characterized the contacts as ordinary business interactions.

What's next: Three Republican committee chairs have asked Huang for a closed-door briefing and gave him a Nov. 11 deadline to set a date.

Why it matters: Nvidia's chips are central to advanced AI systems and U.S. competition with China. Any credible security lapse around its leadership would draw attention from customers, investors and policymakers.
